“Inglourious Basterds meets Little Women”

When Violette and Elisabeth Fischer’s mother goes mysteriously missing in 1942 Berlin, they are presented with an unthinkable decision; kill a Nazi or risk the truth of their mother’s identity falling into enemy hands…

In the wake of their mother’s mysterious disappearance and surviving their first trial, the innocent teen sisters team up with a serial killer moonlighting as a lounge singer, a Jewish girl in hiding, and the privileged daughter of a Nazi sympathizer to take down a Nazi General and save their mother.

But little do they know, they’ve waded into a thick web of lies, betrayal, and power plays amongst resistance groups within the greater landscape of WW2 Germany. Secrets, sisterhood, sacrifice, and the shades of gray of the human experience are explored in Wicked Dames

Who can be truly trusted? Who makes it out alive? You’ll have to read to find out.

Don’t get it twisted – this isn’t your grandfather’s dusty, testosterone-driven “war story.” Nor is it a romanticized, rose-colored-glasses take on WW2.

It’s a fresh look into the side of WW2 many people don’t even know about through a gritty, grounded female ensemble lens:

  • Stylistically, this story will hook in fans of historical fiction books like The Huntress by Kate Quinn or Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly, psychological thrillers about serial killers like Codename Villanelle by Luke Jennings (that later inspired the TV series Killing Eve), and coming-of-age survivor stories like Wilder Girls by Rory Power.

  • The commercial appeal of Wicked Dames will likely also appeal to fans of film & TV projects such as The Handmaid’s Tale, Game of Thrones, and Yellowjackets

  • Leading characters come from varied backgrounds and diversity is explored in a very natural way: German, Jewish, queer, and differently abled characters are heavily featured in this world & the story is from a non-American perspective.

The Wicked Dames story is coming soon as both a narrative podcast and novel.
